Anthony Hamawi is a Lebanese comedian, improviser, writer, actor and host, and a co-founder and core performer of 3a ka3ba.

His comedy career began with stand-up in 2011, followed by improv in 2012, eventually leading to 3a ka3ba and more than a decade of performing live on stages in Lebanon and abroad. His work moves between improv, stand-up, musical comedy, television, writing and hosting, with a style driven by observation, quick thinking and a tendency to overanalyze almost everything.

Beyond 3a ka3ba, Anthony has worked in television and radio, written for screen, acted in film and TV, created and hosted conversation formats, and developed workshops around improvisation, comedy, stage presence and creative thinking.

In 2026, he delivered his TEDx talk “When Life Goes Off Script,” exploring how the principles of improvisation can help us deal with uncertainty, failure and change.

He is also a musician and holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering , which probably explains why he has spent years trying to understand exactly why a joke works instead of simply enjoying it.
